Underneath It All

Underneath It All explores the tension between strength and fragility through ink drawings, wire figures, and embroidered forms on handmade paper.

The works are built from materials chosen for their vulnerability: berry ink that stains and fades, wire that bends and holds, thread that binds and repairs.

This collection considers what is revealed when layers are stripped away: the structures that support us, the points where we feel exposed, and the quiet resilience that exists beneath the surface.

Small figures and delicate forms suggest bodies and inner states held in a balance between containment and collapse.

Rather than presenting vulnerability as spectacle, these works treat it as a condition of being, subtle, complex, and deeply human. Imperfection is not corrected but preserved, allowing marks, tension, and fragility to remain visible.

Underneath It All invites a slower looking. It asks viewers to notice what is often overlooked: the internal frameworks, the quiet gestures, and the tender spaces where strength and openness coexist.
